Use browse to search for a file
1) Choose the 'Browse' button.
2) Select the folder to search through from the 'Look in' drop-down list:
a) Click on the down arrow in the 'Look in' field. (A drop-down list appears.)
b) Select the folder name.
NOTE 1: If the folder to search is a subfolder, keep selecting folders until the desired folder name is reached.
NOTE 2: By default, Access will search all subfolders in the selected folder. To search only the selected folder, uncheck the 'Include subfolders' check box.
3) Do one of the following:
a) Enter the name of the file in the 'Named' field.
NOTE: If the exact filename is unknown, use wildcard characters such as '*' and '?'.
EXAMPLE: cat*.* finds cat.xls, cat.doc, etc.
b) Select the filename from the 'Named' drop-down list:
1] Click on the down arrow in the 'Named' field. (A list of files in the selected folder appears.)
2] Select the desired filename.
4) Choose the 'Find Now' button. (Access lists the location(s) of the file.)
5) (Optional) To search for another file, single-click on the 'New Search' button.
NOTE: The new search will clear the results of previous searches.
6) Choose the 'X' button in the right hand corner of the 'Browse' window to close the window.
